Khufu's restaurant big win
"A Hidden Gem" by the prestigious La Liste awards.
I wrote this week of the La Lista award for Khufu’s Restaurant in a paid-subscriber newsletter, but I am so thrilled for this hospitality team that I wanted to share the news here with all subscribers.
I had the pleasure of dining at Khufu’s Restaurant in Egypt in early 2023, and I say the pleasure as the meal was absolutely outstanding. I described Khufu’s then as “A destination restaurant in Egypt that also happens to have the best view in the world.”
Khufu’s is situated on the Giza Plateau, alongside the pyramids, and the kitchen is headed up by chef Mostafa Seif. I was lucky enough to meet Mostafa and his team after my meal there and they were an absolute delight.
The restaurant opened in late 2022, and after dining there, I was sure they were destined for international recognition and awards. This has come about this week when Khufu’s was recognized as "A Hidden Gem" by the prestigious La Liste awards.
Well done to the entire team at Khufu’s, the award is well deserved and likely to be the first of many. My original Khufu’s Restaurant review is online here.
